Therapy for Anxiety,

Depression and Stress

Depression Treatment

Be like the lotus flower that rises from the muck

I will help you understand the contributing factors to your depression and provide options of therapy interventions that can help you improve your mood, such as:

  • Identifying distorted thinking patterns like negative self-talk that are contributing to your depression and learning to think in more balanced, flexible ways (CBT)

  • Exploring with you your childhood and past experiences that are contributing to your difficulties being satisfied and happy in the present. We will identify relationship patterns that you have with yourself and others that are a result from past experiences and that are no longer useful to you.

  • I may use guided imagery exercises to support you in overcoming unhelpful relationship and behavior patterns and heal from past emotional wounds/hurts.

Anxiety Treatment

Don’t let fears and catastrophic worries get in the way of you living your best life

I will help you overcome debilitating anxiety by:

  • Teaching you grounding (i.e., self-soothing) skills such as deep breathing, mental distraction, and progressive muscle relaxation techniques.

  • Teaching you to focus your mind on the present rather than indulging catastrophic thinking or rehearsing in your mind for worst outcomes.

  • Engaging you in exercises so you can develop less fear-based thinking and progressively challenge yourself to face your fears (i.e., CBT & Exposure Therapy techniques).

Stress Management

Learn to regulate your emotions through healthier coping skills and grounding techniques

I will help you decrease your stress by:

  • Helping you communicate your needs and feelings in healthier ways

  • Assisting you in developing self-care plans and overcome barriers to prioritizing your self-care

  • Teaching you grounding and self-soothing skills such as mindfulness skills, deep breathing, and progressive muscle relaxation techniques.

  • Identifying perfectionistic or black-and-white thinking patterns that result in difficulties regulating your emotions when things don’t go your way or feel out of your control.
